ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Mitchell Marsh Ruled Out Of England Clash, Returns to Australia for Personal Reasons. Mitchell Marsh, the Australian all-rounder, has reportedly returned to Australia before his team’s vital match against England in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

As per information from cricket.com.au, no specific timeframe is established for the prominent all-rounder’s return to India. Mitchell Marsh departed for his home on Thursday, November 2, due to personal reasons and will be absent from the World Cup 2023 with an uncertain duration of absence. A statement from Cricket Australia indicates that the confirmation of his return to the squad’s timeline is pending.

Currently, there is limited information regarding his return date and whether Australia will select a substitute for the all-rounder. Losing Mitchell Marsh would be a significant setback for Australia, especially considering their absence of Glenn Maxwell for the upcoming match against England.

The Impact Of Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell’s Absence

Maxwell won’t be participating in the upcoming match due to a concussion caused by a golf cart accident. Reportedly, he slipped and fell from the back of the cart, resulting in a head injury that will keep him sidelined for a week.

Australia will be keeping their fingers crossed that the recent obstacles won’t disrupt their campaign. The team, which has won the World Cup five times, faced two initial losses but managed to secure four consecutive victories, successfully getting their World Cup journey back on course.

Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh were pivotal in Australia’s recent winning streak. Marsh’s remarkable century contributed to a 62-run victory over Pakistan, while Maxwell achieved a record-breaking 40-ball century against the Netherlands. Australia currently holds the third position in the points table, and a victory over arch-rivals England would nearly guarantee their spot in the semifinals.
