It is the oldest grand slam in tennis history and the only slam played on grass. There have been 136 successful editions of Wimbledon and the 2024 event will be 137th. Every player has to adhere to a strict all-white dress code while playing at Wimbledon. The 2024 edition will kick off on 1st July with the final day scheduled on 14th July.

The official venue of Wimbledon is the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. There are many courts in the arena. Centre Court is the main court and it hosts all the important matches. It has a retractable roof. The other major court is Court 1 and since 2019 it also boasts of a retractable roof.

Format of Wimbledon 2024
Wimbledon 2024 will have the same format as the previous Wimbledon events. Every match is a knockout. Singles events will have seven rounds of matches viz 1st round, 2nd round, 3rd round, 4th round, quarterfinal, semi-finals, and finals. A total of 128 players will participate in each singles event.
