Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi achieved a remarkable milestone in the third T20I against Bangladesh, becoming the youngest Indian to reach 50 wickets in the format. His stellar performance helped India secure a commanding 133-run victory, completing a 3-0 series whitewash at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
At 24 years and 37 days, Bishnoi surpassed Arshdeep Singh’s record as the youngest Indian to claim 50 T20I wickets. He also joined Arshdeep as the joint-second-quickest Indian to reach this landmark, accomplishing it in 33 matches. Kuldeep Yadav holds the record for the fastest Indian to 50 T20I wickets, achieving it in 30 games.
Bishnoi’s impact on the match was significant. He dismantled Bangladesh’s chase by removing key players including captain Najmul Shanto, Liton Das, and Rishad Hossain. His final figures of 3/30 in four overs played a crucial role in restricting Bangladesh to 164/7, well short of India’s imposing 297/6.

While Bishnoi shone with the ball, India’s batting display was equally impressive. Sanju Samson led the charge with a blistering 111 off 47 balls, becoming the first Indian wicketkeeper to score a T20I century. Suryakumar Yadav complemented Samson’s efforts with a quick-fire 75 off 35 deliveries.
The partnership between Samson and Suryakumar was particularly destructive, amassing 173 runs in just 69 balls. This set the stage for India’s massive total, which proved too much for Bangladesh to chase.
In the post-match interview, Bishnoi expressed his satisfaction with reaching the 50-wicket milestone. He emphasised the positive impact of competition within the team, stating, “It is good pressure when you have healthy competition in the team. I wanted to make the most of this opportunity.”

Bishnoi also highlighted the benefits of observing the game from outside, having been rested for the first two matches of the series. He noted, “It feels good to see the game from the outside as well. You need to work on yourself and work on things accordingly.”
The young spinner’s performance and attitude reflect his commitment to continuous improvement and adaptability in the fast-paced world of T20 cricket. As India looks ahead to future challenges, Bishnoi’s emergence as a key player adds depth to their bowling arsenal and promises exciting prospects for the team’s future in the shortest format of the game.
