ODI World Cup 2023: BCCI Announces 15-Member Squad For Cricket’s Biggest Tournament. The Men’s Selection Panel of the BCCI, led by Ajit Agarkar, officially announced Team India’s squad for the ODI World Cup 2023. The news comes a day after sources revealed the provisional roster for the ODI World Cup 2023. Ajit Agarkar traveled to Sri Lanka on Saturday to meet with skipper Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid to finalize the 15-member team.

The deadline for announcing the team was September 5th, according to ICC criteria. Teams can, however, make alterations to their squad until September 28. The BCCI has revealed the regular squad, something many cricket pundits had predicted.

The team is headed by Rohit Sharma, with Hardik taking up the role of vice-captain once more. The biggest concern was who would be chosen between KL Rahul and Sanju Samson. Now it appears that Sanju Samson would suffer another heartbreak. KL Rahul is still not fit, as he was picked for the Asia Cup 2023 but did not make the starting lineup. Following his performance against Pakistan, Ishan Kishan has emerged as the key option for wicketkeeping.

The batting order will be led by Rohit, Kohli, and Gill. Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj, and Kuldeep as the major bowling options. While Hardik and Jadeja would be the primary all-rounders, Axar would serve as a backup. India will play three one-day internationals (ODIs) against Australia before the World Cup with the same side.

Squad: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya (Vice-captain), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav#TeamIndia | #CWC23
